Cattle reproduction, kept up to date

You write an event down once, and the deadlines that follow from it appear in the calendar on their own.

The cycle, the way it happens on the farm

Reproduction is not a list of fields, it is a chain: a heat leads to a mating, the mating to a pregnancy check, the check to a calving, the calving to a calf and to a weaning. ViFerm holds the whole chain and works out what comes next on its own.

Heats

You write down the heats you observe. The platform estimates the next cycle and puts the date in the calendar, so it is not lost if the animal was not inseminated.

Matings and inseminations

The date, the bull or the straw used and the person who carried it out are all recorded. Bulls from outside the farm can be kept separately, with their own details, so that they appear correctly in the pedigree of the calves.

Pregnancy checks

After a mating, the check is scheduled automatically. The result can be positive, negative or inconclusive — and a negative result puts the animal back among those to watch for heats, without you doing anything.

Pregnancies and calvings

Once a pregnancy is confirmed, the platform estimates the likely calving window from the gestation length of the breed. At calving you enter the calves, and they are linked to the dam automatically and join the existing pedigree, without you typing the same connections a second time.

Weanings

The weaning date settles into the calendar according to the age of the calf, and the animal moves into the next production class on its own when it reaches it.

The farm's clock

On the reproduction screen, the herd is split by where each female stands in the cycle. The four groups add up to exactly the number of animals on the farm — that is, no animal is counted twice and none is missing.

When you open the platform you find what falls due today: pregnancy checks, estimated heats, calvings coming up, weanings.

Put reproduction in the calendar, not in your head.

Create the farm, add the females, and let the deadlines come to you. The account is free.
