What’s new in ViFerm

Here you’ll find the new features and improvements in ViFerm, with explanations of what you can do and where to find them in the app.

October 2026

Easier to record, correct and keep your farm’s data

The latest improvements help you record work for several animals at once, correct the information on the records and recover your data from a backup. We have also extended the information available without signal and simplified a few everyday tasks.

One entry for all the animals that received the same procedure

Vaccinated or dewormed a whole group? You fill in the procedure once, then choose the animals that received it. You can select animals from several groups, and before saving you check how many are included and which groups they come from.

Each animal gets its own entry on its record. If you need to correct the information for a single animal, you do it from that animal’s record.

Where to find it“Health” → “Vaccination or procedure for a group”. In the form, use “Filter by group” and “Tick everything shown”, then check the selection before saving.

The backup can be restored

The owner can download a backup of the farm as a single ZIP file, with the animals, the history, the photos and the documents. From this backup you can create a new farm, also in another account, without changing the farm the backup was made from.

Before restoring, you choose the file, check its contents and confirm. Team members are not transferred: you invite them again to the restored farm.

To restore, you need a backup in the new ZIP format. Older backups, downloaded as two separate files, do not work with this feature. If you only keep an older backup, download a new one.

Where to find itTo download: “Reports” → “Download the backup”. To restore: “Your account” → “Backup” → “Restore from a backup”. The option is also under “Reports” → “Backup”.

More information at hand when you have no signal

The no-signal screen is organised into five tabs: “Today”, “Animals”, “Tasks”, “Guide” and “To send”. You can look up the information saved on the phone about animals, treatments, reproduction and the day’s tasks. You also find the expected calvings in the next 14 days and the milk withdrawal periods.

You can search by internal code, filter the animals by group and add a treatment, a move to another group or a note on the record. The entries are sent automatically when the connection returns.

The information shown is what was saved the last time the app was opened with signal on that phone. Changes made later from other devices appear after reconnecting.

Where to find itThe screen opens automatically when the phone has no internet connection.

You can correct more entries on the animal’s record

A date, a product or any other detail entered wrongly can be corrected directly on the entry. This works for matings and inseminations, pregnancy checks, weanings, treatments and procedures.

You can also correct the details of external bulls, in their list on the “Reproduction” page.

Where to find itAnimal’s record → “Reproduction”, “Health” or “Growth” → “Correct”, on the entry. For external bulls: “Reproduction” → “External bulls”.

Complete the calf’s record and the sale without entering the events again

When you record a calving, you can create the calf’s record even if the pregnancy was not recorded in ViFerm before. If the calving already exists but the calf born alive has no record yet, use “Complete the calf’s details” on that calving.

If an animal is already marked as sold but the sale is not recorded, the owner can use “Complete the sale”. The animal’s status can be changed separately, from “Status”.

Where to find itFor the calf: the mother’s record → “Reproduction” → “Calvings”. To complete the sale and change the status, open the animal’s record.

Find all your costs and see the purchase price on the record

The “All costs” list lets you look up older entries too, beyond those shown under “Recent costs”. As the owner, you can delete a cost entered by mistake; the amount is also removed from the totals. Deleting is permanent.

A cost entered from an animal’s record belongs to that animal. For a cost that concerns the whole farm, use “Farm cost” on the “Sales” page.

The purchase price now also appears in “Animal details”. Amounts are visible only to the owner; the other team members can still see the animal’s status and the date of the sale.

Where to find it“Sales” → “Recent costs” → “All costs”. An animal’s costs are on its record, under “Sale and status”, and the purchase price is in “Animal details”.

Choose which devices receive your notifications

The “Your account” page organises your preferences for notifications, security, privacy and the backup more clearly.

If at least one of your devices receives notifications, “Manage devices” shows those phones and computers, and you can turn off notifications separately for each one.

Where to find itThe menu on your profile picture, top right → “Your account”. You can also get there from “Settings”.

The import takes in more information from spreadsheets

The owner can import animals from more layouts of Excel and CSV files. In the recognised formats, the import can also take in information about parents, inseminations, calvings, vaccinations or the holding of birth, when these are in the spreadsheet.

Check the preview before saving to see which information was recognised. If you upload the same file again, the import fills in the missing information for existing animals, without creating the entries already taken in again.

The breed list now also includes Nelore, Gir, Guzerá and Brahman, which you can choose when adding or editing an animal.

Where to find it“Animals” → “Upload a file”. The breeds are in the “Breed” field of the animal’s form.

Vivi can guide you through these changes too

We have added to the information Vivi answers from, including correcting entries, procedures for a group, the backup and working without signal. Ask her for the steps from her button at the bottom right. Vivi explains how to use the app, without access to the farm’s data.

Dates and times follow the farm’s time zone

The times of entries are entered and shown in the farm’s time zone. The owner can check the setting under “Settings” → “Time zone”.
